it's been

 the perfect weather
 for wearing beanies
enjoying some fresh air & then keeping warm by the fire eating hearty soup & watching the rain fall.

pretty in pink

a couple of weeks ago i went to meet baby Isla. a precious little girl welcomed into a family of four who are now blessed as a family of five. she slept while her mum & i chatted over cups of tea. in between our chatting i snapped some memories of her 9 week old self. so pure & small & perfect.

welcome to the world Isla & may you grow & live with a whole lot of happiness & love surrounding you xx

getting away

for a weekend break is always on our 'must do in the new year' wish lists. i feel weekend escapes are always worth the quick packing of essentials & hitting the open road. driving for a few hours to arrive in a new place never before seen. this time we headed into the country.

& became familiar with the rolling hills & grazing sheep

 admired the scenery

 & we all fell in love with a new friend 'milo' {especially our girls who could play ball, frisbee & boss poor milo around!}

 we called this little piece of paradise home for the night
 after being welcomed with a delicious afternoon tea treat.

 we all slept soundly after exploring in the fresh country air & our next day started off slowly
 & the array of homemade breakfast goodness filled our tummies {apart from the delish crunchy granola, we had fresh laid eggs, homemade bread & jam, crumpets, preserved pears & yogurt which all got gobbled up before i could capture it!}
 i fell in love with the decor & have put in an order with my handyman husband for a shade similar to this.
 i also came across this gorgeous magazine. it sums up how i really need to be somedays. reminding me to be slow. to stop & just be.
a perfect little weekend escape & now we are looking at planning the next one!

do you love road tripping? where is your ultimate destination?

life lately

as i type this post i am surrounded by school readers being read, spelling words practiced, squabbles over pens & pencils & the whirr of dishes being cleaned. dinner needs to be cooked so i can fly out to a meeting tonight. while i go to prepare the family for gathering at our table i bring you some recent snap shots of a little road trip we took deep into the country. it was a beautiful time of fresh air, meeting some inquisitive shy sheep, & enjoying a peaceful view of rolling hills.

more to come soon!

the

skies are changing around here from blue to the grey of colder mornings & fresh afternoons. leaves are falling & our family meals are moving on to roasts & more comforting hearty stews. this time of the year reminds me of mini road trips exploring & making the most of time as a family.

when i received a comment from the team at snapstagram on this post i was very excited! & headed straight over to their site to see what they were all about. i wasn't disappointed!

they print some cool stuff & were kind enough to give me a code to order my very own set of 4X4 prints which i picked up from the post office today. & i love them!!

i chose images from my instagram feed. a few of our days by the beach

& a few from our recent visit to melbourne town

& here's the good news. i have another code for a set of prints that i would love to give away to one of you!

{you will only have to pay the $8 postage fee. entry is open worldwide. you can only print through your instagram feed so make sure you are an instagrammer!}

to enter all you need to do is leave a comment about what type of images you would have printed & what you would do with them?
